Jeju-do Haenyeo Three Sisters (제주도 해녀세자매), Hyeopjae main branch, is a seafood restaurant on the northwest coast of Jeju, in Hallim-eup. It’s best known for whole hairtail (galchi), either braised or grilled, and for a seafood stew the restaurant says is made with catch from haenyeo, Jeju’s women free divers. Despite “Hyeopjae” in the name, it isn’t on Hyeopjae Beach. It sits beside Daesu Port (대수포구), a short walk from Hallim Port. This guide covers the menu and listed prices, hours, parking, and how to get there. All practical details come from the restaurant’s Naver Place listing, checked in October 2026.

What kind of restaurant is it?
This is a sit-down seafood house built around shared platters, not a quick lunch counter. Most of the menu is sized for two or more people, and the set meals are designed for groups. Naver lists group seating, high chairs, a waiting area and reservations, which tells you it’s set up for families and groups.
The menu descriptions on Naver make a few claims about where the seafood comes from. The hairtail is described as caught by “our captain father” in Jeju waters, and the stew, sea urchin seaweed soup, momguk and turban shell soup are described as using seafood or seaweed gathered by haenyeo around Biyangdo, the small island off Hallim. Those are the restaurant’s own descriptions; we couldn’t check them independently.
Jeju dishes on the menu, explained
- Galchi (hairtail / cutlassfish): a long, silver, ribbon-shaped fish closely tied to Jeju. “Tong-galchi” means the whole fish, served long on the platter rather than cut into short pieces.
- Galchi-jorim: hairtail braised in a sweet-spicy red sauce, usually with radish and other vegetables. The menu says it comes with other Jeju seafood.
- Momguk: a traditional Jeju soup of pork broth and mom (gulfweed seaweed). The menu says it’s slow-cooked with Jeju black pork.
- Tot-bap: rice cooked with tot (hijiki seaweed).
- Ttaksae-u: a Jeju shrimp with a hard shell and sweet meat, served here steamed, raw, or marinated in soy sauce.
- Okdom: tilefish, a prized Jeju fish usually grilled whole.

What to order
For two or three people who want the restaurant’s main dishes, Set A is the simplest choice. It puts braised and grilled hairtail on one table with momguk and seaweed rice. Larger groups can look at Set B or add the seafood stew. Solo travelers have fewer options, since most mains are platters. The soups (momguk at ₩12,000, sea urchin seaweed soup at ₩18,000) with grilled mackerel are the most realistic single-person meal on the listed menu.
Opening hours
Naver Place lists the restaurant as open every day, 11:00–20:30, with last order at 19:30. No regular closing day appears on the listing in October 2026. Some third-party write-ups give a slightly different last-order time, so if you’re arriving near the end of the evening, call ahead or check Naver Map on the day.
How to get there
The restaurant’s own directions on Naver say it’s next to Daesu Port, in a spot with a sea view. If your navigation app can’t find the restaurant name, enter 275 Hallimhaean-ro or search for Daesu Port (대수포구); the restaurant is right beside it.
By car
The restaurant’s directions estimate about 40 minutes by car from Jeju Airport and about 10 minutes by car from Hyeopjae Beach or Hallim Park. Traffic, especially on weekends, can make it longer.
By public transport
The same directions estimate about 50 minutes by public transport from Jeju Airport and a 3-minute walk from Hallim Port. Naver lists the nearest bus stops as Suwon Gas Station (수원주유소), Suwon-ri and Hansu-ri, served by trunk bus 202. Check the live route and schedule in Naver Map or KakaoMap, as Jeju bus routes are revised from time to time.
Parking
The building has its own lot, and Naver lists basic parking as free. The restaurant asks drivers to back into spaces and to use the marked compact-car spots for small cars. If the lot is full, its parking note says roadside parking is fine, or you can go down the side alley to the open lot at Daesu Port, where a path behind the building leads up to the entrance.
Practical tips
- Reservations: Naver lists reservations as available, which is worth using for dinner with a larger group.
- Families: high chairs, group seating and separate restrooms are listed.
- Pets: Naver lists the restaurant as pet-friendly (반려동물 동반). Confirm by phone before bringing a dog, since conditions aren’t spelled out.
- Takeout and Wi-Fi: both are listed.
- Payment: Naver only lists Jeju local currency (card and paper). It doesn’t say which other cards are accepted, so carry a backup payment method.
- Budget: as listed, set meals start at ₩109,000 and most single platters run ₩25,000–₩59,000, so this is a sit-down splurge compared with a noodle shop.
What’s nearby
- Hallim Port and Biyangdo: Hallim Port is a few minutes’ walk away, according to the restaurant. VisitJeju notes that the port is where ferries leave for Biyangdo.
- Hallim Kalguksu: for a cheaper breakfast or lunch, this bomal noodle shop at 141 Hallimhaean-ro, on the same coast road, opens at 8 a.m. (closed Wednesdays, per VisitJeju and Naver).
- Hallim Traditional Five-Day Market: held on dates ending in 4 or 9, 08:00–17:00, according to VisitJeju.
- Hyeopjae Beach: about 10 minutes away by car, per the restaurant’s directions. It’s one of the northwest coast’s best-known beaches (VisitKorea).
The west coast works well as a day out from Jeju City. If you’re still choosing a base, see our guide to Jeju City vs. Seogwipo for a short food trip.
